Throughout various sections of this User's Guide there are options listed for using different types of XML markup to achieve specific document formatting and some text styling. You can specify a lot of the text styling in stylesheets, but there are some document formatting styles to modify the structure of a book that are achieved only by modifying XML tags—either by specifying the values of attributes of some elements, or by using processing instructions.
