Overview of features for half title pages
You have the option to display recto and verso half title pages, which occur before the main title page of a book. The stylesheet p3-cover-titlepage.xsl has all features to set up styles for the half title pages.
You can add XML markup for recto and verso half title pages nested immediately within the <book> element. Any text or tables (e.g. an informal table) can be added to the recto and verso half title pages. Even if the XML markup for half title pages is present, you can choose to turn off all half title pages at the stylesheet feature p3-45.
Recto half title page. XML tagging that is specifically for the recto half title page is marked up inside <cover role="halftitlerecto">. You do not need to type the title of the book in any tags—when you choose to display the book title at stylesheet feature p3-50, the half page title is generated automatically from the book title. To add other text apart from the book title, insert <para> elements and type text inside them.
Verso half title page. XML tagging that is specifically for the verso half title page is marked up inside <cover role="halftitleverso">. To add text, insert <para> elements and type text inside them. You can insert an <informaltable> element if you need to format text in a table.
The relevant Stylesheet Guide page to set up text styles on the recto half title page is PDF-halftitlerecto.svg. You can display half title pages on or off at stylesheet feature p3-45, and display the book title on or off at stylesheet feature p3-50.
